Korean Skin Care Secret #3: Evening Toner Mask 로션 마스크

It's finally up!!!

Too Pretty to Eat

I was delighted when a client brought in some Dragon Fruit from Chinatown... I've always wanted to try it but did not know how to eat it!  You simply section it into wedges and peel off the fuchsia skin.  I'd say the taste is a cross between a pear and cactus (though I've never had cactus I would imagine it would taste like this hehe).  I think it is more visually stunning than it is tasty :(.

Kombuwhat?!?

Kombucha.  All I need to get my day going-- try it instead of coffee :) Need I say more: *Probiotics – healthy bacteria *Alkalize the body – balances internal pH *Detoxify the liver – happy liver = happy mood *Increase metabolism – rev your internal engine *Improve digestion – keep your system moving *Rebuild connective tissue – helps with  arthritis , gout, asthma, rheumatism *Cancer prevention *Alleviate constipation *Boost energy – helps with chronic fatigue *Reduce blood pressure *Relieve headaches & migraines *Reduce kidney stones *High in antioxidants – destroy free-radicals that cause cancer *High in polyphenols *Improve eyesight *Heal excema – can be applied topically to soften the skin *Prevent artheriosclerosis *Speed healing of ulcers – kills  h.pylori  on contact *Help clear up candida & yeast infections *Aid healthy cell regeneration *Reduce gray hair *Lower glucose levels – prevents spiking from eating

Baby Got Bracelets

I'm absolutely determined to get back on my video posting-- I've been so busy with random things for the past few weeks that I've neglected my poor blog :(.  Thank you to all of you who have posted comments on my youtube channel and blog! Had to jump on the arm candy trend!  I'm loving the mismatched look:  quartz beads, yellow gold, and macrame friendship bracelet.

Manic Monday

You can never go wrong with a classic red nail... especially if you need a little pick-me-up to start the new week!  Happy Monday!

Red Bean Obsession

I'm addicted to Adzuki beans.  Every form of it.  Sweet.  Savory.  It's a good thing it happens to be good for you.  My favorite popsicle/iced treat is bibibik-- sweet red bean popsicle- you can find it at any Korean market.  Do you find that your favorite foods are linked to your parents' favorites?  I love all the foods that my mom does:  watermelon, fish, red beans, and korean lettuce wraps....

Korean Skin Care Secret #3: Lotion/Toner Masks

Currently editing my next video!  This post-cleansing step makes such a huge difference in the overall condition of your skin tone, clarity, and hydration.

Something different...

Plain black nails needed a face lift...    Click to see a how-to!

Korean Skin Care Secret #2: Proper Cleansing Method 세안법

Second video in Korean Skin Care Secrets series is up:   Proper Cleansing Cleansing your face is hands down the most important step in your skin care regimen.  I spend about 15 minutes cleansing every night-- longer than my makeup routine!  I've noticed a huge improvement in my overall skin clarity, pore size, and texture once I adopted this method years ago!  Try it out and let me know how it works for you :)... Now if I can just get over this camera shyness.  How do you girls do it?

Simple things

Simple things make me smile...

Daily cup of matcha

beauty and the eats: antioxidant smoothie

Do you believe that you are what you eat?  I've always stuck to the notion that what you eat is more important than what you slather onto your skin.  Committing to a healthy diet is not only good for your body, but also results in beautiful glowing skin.  Kill two birds with one stone why dontcha? Check out my new video series on my youtube channel:  www.youtube.com/beautyinasnap  The first video will be posted up tonight!!!  A passion of mine that I've decided to put into action!  Beauty from the inside out.

Phewf !

It has taken me a while to get back on my feet after recovering from a cold and having family members visit... but I'm back!!! I've been furiously filming and editing videos to be posted soon!  I have such admiration for those of you who blog so frequently! I realized that electronically storing my schedule/reminders on my phone just doesn't cut it for me.  I need to physically write things down in a planner.  I am constantly thinking of random ideas and texting it in alphabet by alphabet is just too tedious!   I ordered a Korean-style planner on ebay that is uber functional and cute to boot... I've been recently drooling over the new Louis Vuitton Epi "Eden".  I'm not usually one to follow "it-bags" but this one is so cute!

New Family Member

So terribly sorry for not having my you tube video up and running as promised-- I came down with a cold and have been in recovery mode for the past week >.<  I'll be working on the video this weekend! Nothing like a new gadget to make your sickness go poof!

Weekend Excursion

My favorite flats as of late... broken in oxfords are so comfortable for weekend wear... I paid a visit to a Korean temple this weekend.           Gorgeous view from atop the hills where the temple is located... Can you guess this skyline?

appendage adornments

What a rainy and busy week... I can't believe how quickly the days fly by...  I am currently filming a new skin care video and should have it up by this weekend!

Korean skin care secret #1: Rubber Mask 고무 팩

As a Korean female, I'm always getting asked-- what is the secret to the beauty of Korean women's skin?  Is it something we put on our skin?  I've decided to start a series on my youtube channel revealing what it is Korean women do to achieve healthy and glowing skin.   There is honestly no secret, but Korean women (for the most part) are fanatical about maintenance and visit the dermatologist regularly.  Take a look at my series on my youtube channel for instructions-- youtube.com/beautyinasnap

Be the Economical

I have to confess... I'm a bit of a cheapskate ok ok I'm a total cheapskate when it comes to certain things like getting manicures.  I love the look of polished nails but can't bear to fork over an Andy Jackson only to have it chip and wear off within a week.  Tried a little something different today with this cute confetti/glitter polish I found for $0.99.  Top coat polish from Jordana also less than a dollar.  First layer is a sheer pink that I've had so long the label has worn off!  I think it's from Revlon...

Cheap thrills

Picked up a new cream blush at Sephora-- texture is smooth and easy to blend.  It's a cream version of Nars Orgasm-- but better!

One look says it all

A simple meal of bibimbap is so satisfying on a lazy Sunday afternoon.  Give it a twist by adding whatever veggies you have in the fridge.
